We had several first time attenders who we are very glad to see, it is awesome to see new faces being introduced to the auction industry. Some comments from the new people:

Thank you for the very professional service!

"It is easy to understand why you are so highly recommended."

"Hi Carol,
Tami and I had such a great experience. It was like nothing I've ever done before and I hope to visit many more times in the future!

I know you wanted my feedback since this was my first auction. First, everyone was helpful. I was so impressed when I went to sign in and the person knew exactly who I was. Then you personally came over to introduce yourself and give me a few tips. Wow - that's customer service and what I'm all about at my store, Motif.

I was comfortable from the get-go. I loved the energy and watching the other participants.

The next time I come, there is one thing I will do differently - come much earlier and really look at everything a lot more carefully. Items came up for bid that I didn't see and wished I would have.

Thanks again for making my first auction such an outstanding success!!"

Thanks so much for the kind words and we hope we see you both again BRING FRIENDS

We have a nice auction this Sunday, an estate in Milwaukee from the late Bob Evans an avid radio collector. But the auction is much more than this. There are great fans, toys, records, display cases, trains, advertising, and electronics.

For the repurposer there are a lot of opportunities: brass bladed fans, other fans of various sizes, nice wood tripods for making lamps, the radios make great accent pieces both wood and colored plastic, radio cases for great projects, metal movie reels for wall art in your family and theatre rooms, old reel to reel projectors, old radio tubes, Floor radio that are also end tables! Come and see and let your imagination and creativity turn some of these items into design treasures! If you do let us know what you made so we can feature you on our blog. We are looking for new ideas for repurposing vintage items. You don’t have to be a radio collector only to appreciate these great items!

Thanks for reading and please write back!

<![CDATA[Weekend Activities]]>Thu, 26 Jan 2012 14:36:21 GMThttp://baileyshonorblog.weebly.com/baileys-honor-blog/weekend-activitiesWell I don’t know about you but I have had enough winter, sorry, I can’t take the cold! Thanks to all those who attended the auction Wed it was very successful with several new faces and a fun crowd. I am getting ready to go to Wisconsin Auctioneer Association convention this weekend. I am running for president elect so we will see how that goes. Many good classes and speakers as well as networking opportunities I am looking forward too.

Lynzie leaves Monday for Australia, that might be some of the reason I am feeling sluggish not just the cold! I am going to miss that one, she is so fun to be around. I know it will be an experience of a lifetime, but mom’s heart is going to stretch. Todd is in the middle of beer making, I am living in a hauf brau! I don’t even like beer but he seems to be enjoying it I hope its not skunky, 50 bottles of skunk beer might take some time to dispose of J

Planning a trip to Canada for May so off to the all Canada show with the family this weekend!

<![CDATA[Goodbye's]]>Fri, 13 Jan 2012 17:23:53 GMThttp://baileyshonorblog.weebly.com/baileys-honor-blog/goodbyesWell as Jan comes to a close we will be sending Lynzie (our youngest) Down Under! She is leaving for Australia to do an internship at an Equine Clinic in Sydney that also does work at the local race track as well (I was watching Mission Impossible 2 and it was the same track as featured in the movie) I know many of you have watched these girls grow up and last year we added an additional member to our family in Jon, Allis new husband, and this year we spread our wings across the ocean with Lynzie. Thanks to all (especially Nellie B & Gene who were Lynzie second family last summer) who always ask about our girls! I hope Todd can put up with just me around the house. I am sure there will be more golf outings, which leaves me more time for auctions! If you ever need an auction partner call me I like to be a bidder too, I have Christmas for 2012 to start shopping for. This year we bought all our gifts from Good will, St Vincent De Paul, Salvation Army, auction, rummage or estate sale. It started off with a lukewarm family response but ended up being a success and a lot of fun, so much so we are doing it again next year.

On a sad note the auction community lost a great person last week with the passing of Bob Markewicz. What a great guy and knowledgeable antique dealer, he will be sorely missed by all. Our deepest condolences to the family! Please say a prayer for Junkin John who is currently in the hospital too!! He is an auction icon, hard to do one without him attending.

Just know I appreciate seeing you all at auctions and consider you dear friends!

<![CDATA[Childhood Memories!]]>Tue, 10 Jan 2012 15:21:39 GMThttp://baileyshonorblog.weebly.com/baileys-honor-blog/childhood-memories
When I was looking back at the Holiday season and preparing for the first auction of the month, I was thinking of the Santa Clause movie –remember the woman who really wanted the dream date game, but never got it! As I was working on this auction listing there was a piece in the auction that my neighbor had that I always wanted (coveted, bad Carol) “Incredible Edibles” and “Creepy crawler” sets by Mattel. Why do people buy what they buy? Is it just for collector value, memories, to complete childhood dreams and fantasy? What motivates you to buy items? I know of a couple of brothers who buy each other gifts based on the toys they always wanted as a child but never got. Would you play with them or just look at them? Hey lets discuss and share your stories this stuff is fascinating stuff! Maybe we have what you have always been looking for! Let us help you fulfill your lifetime Christmas LIST!
We've posted a survey question on Facebook. Go "like" Bailey's Honor Auction Service and participate in the survey - we would love to hear your thoughts!

Have a Wonderful Day!

<![CDATA[Post Title.]]>Sat, 24 Dec 2011 15:39:52 GMThttp://baileyshonorblog.weebly.com/baileys-honor-blog/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit25Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year from Baileys Honor Auction & Estate Services LLC

What a year it has been, and we would like to take this time to thank you for being part of a very successful and memorable year!

I was honored to complete my year as the Wisconsin State Champion Auctioneer, I had opportunity to participate in various benefit auctions for some great nonprofit organizations. With this came the opportunity to meet some very heroic individuals who though being tested by circumstance where triumphant and still found time to work for their causes and look outside their own situations to the greater good. Bucky Badger and Donald Driver were two of the celebrities I got to share a stage with! In July I represented the State of Wisconsin in the International Auctioneer Championship in Orlando Florida. What a learning experience and privilege to compete next to such great professional auctioneers! I think I will try again next year in Seattle.

We started a new business model in 2011, Senior Transitions, although in its infancy we are setting our sites on expanding this portion of our business for 2012. We will be focusing on moving seniors from their homes into downsizing situations, settling their personal property and real property as well as getting them set up in their new environment. This was very well received by families who do not live in the area and need assistance in moving family members into different life stages. Are mission is total estate liquidation with compassion, cooperation and consolidation. We have even got to tap into our inner decorative skills and help bring homey elements into the new residence without forgetting about the history of the home before!

We were blessed with many auctions this year, aside for a regularly scheduled monthly auctions in Dousman, we had a number of specialty auctions (coins, dolls, fine art, vintage clothing, onsite estates and jewelry) as well as, Five real estate auctions! Several of our auctions also featured live online simulcast bidding. It seems in the very busy world we live in that offering an online bidding option for those who cannot travel to the auction site allows us to reach out to collectors all over the US and beyond to put our clients items in the eyes and hands of anyone who may be searching for these treasures. Waterloo Auction House started monthly auctions where we are assisting them in this startup venture! They have started off with a bang! Every auction has been growing with attendees and quality merchandise. Bob and Sherry Rehm are awesome to work with and I look forward to the years growth.

On a personal level we welcomed a new son into our family! Allison and Jon Scholl had a beautiful wedding in July and Todd is glad to have another male point of view in his corner! On a sad note we also lost Todd’s mother this year, Shirley was a great supportive of my auction business always very complimentary and positive! She watched our website and was a super PR person for me as well as being a lovely woman! She bought my very first item I ever sold—We will miss her!

I hope to continue in 2012 to deliver all of you quality honest auction experiences! We want to blog more, facebook more and have more fun! Thank you all for allowing us to sell your items and offer you historical, antiquated, collectible and design worthy items for life uses! Auctions the ultimate place to meet people, share good times with friends, discover great items, REUSE-REPURPOSE-REDISCOVER AUCTIONS!

<![CDATA[I Back Jack]]>Thu, 15 Sep 2011 20:09:02 GMThttp://baileyshonorblog.weebly.com/baileys-honor-blog/i-back-jackMonday night it was my extreme pleasure to have the opportunity to be a part of something greater than oneself--reaching out and helping others! I Back Jack foundation had its annual fundraiser at the Cheneque Country Club. What a moment it was to hear that in just about 2 years, 18 families from around the country - fundraising efforts have brought to market a drug especially earmarked for neuroblastoma, with the first recipient receiving it just a few short weeks ago and Jack is scheduled in 6 weeks! WOW! What people can accomplish with passion and focus! If you are looking for a place to donate to that you can personally see results, pleas consider the "I Back Jack" foundation. I would also as k that you keep Jack in your thoughts and prayers as he enters another round of chemo and will be staying at Children's for several weeks. It was great to have him and his sister, Annie, help at the auction, SO CUTE and thankful for each persons help for himself and the friends he has made through the treatment process. His parents John and Sarah work tirelessly on this organization not just for their son but for all the sons and daughters with neuroblastoma. They are a blessing and inspiration and I was so proud to be a part of this effort.
<![CDATA[Barbershop Collectibles - Capone]]>Tue, 13 Sep 2011 16:52:55 GMThttp://baileyshonorblog.weebly.com/baileys-honor-blog/barbershop-collectibles-caponeThe barbershop collection came from a local Delafield barber who once cut Al Capones Hair - - I am sure he was nervous about doing a good job! Can you believe it? One of my other clients lived down the road from Capones' house in Brookfield and when they blew out his still, it shook the winkows of the neighboring farm house. These are the stories that make this business fun!! Com and check out the cool items at the September 21st auction, 20+ crocks, barber items/ephemera/razors/tonic bottles (see a sample picture below), milk bottles, real photo postcards (Christmas), vintage Barbies, Vintage clothes and furs! Something for everyone.

You can also go to our website, www.baileyshonor.com to see more photos and an expanded listing. Hope to see you on the 21st.
